Overview

This Ambassador Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation in the WKND Ambassador Program. By enrolling as an ambassador, you agree to the terms below and the WKND Terms of Service.

The WKND Ambassador Program allows you to earn commissions by referring travelers, event-goers, and other users to the WKND platform. You earn a percentage of qualifying booking revenue generated through your unique referral link.

Independent Contractor Status

You Are Not an Employee

As a WKND Ambassador, you are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of WKND Company. This Agreement does not create an employment relationship.

What This Means

You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses

WKND does not provide benefits, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance

You set your own hours and methods for promoting WKND (within our guidelines)

You may promote other platforms and services simultaneously

Tax Responsibility

You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all taxes on your ambassador earnings. For US-based ambassadors earning $600 or more in a calendar year, WKND will issue a 1099-NEC form. You may be required to provide a W-9 or W-8BEN before receiving payouts.

Commission Structure

Tiered Commission Rates

Your commission rate is based on your ambassador tier, which is determined by your booking volume and activity:

Bronze Tier: 7-10% of qualifying booking value

Silver Tier: 10-12% of qualifying booking value

Gold Tier: 12-14% of qualifying booking value

Platinum Tier: 14-16% of qualifying booking value

Qualifying Bookings

A booking qualifies for commission when:

The customer arrived through your unique referral link

The booking is completed (not cancelled or fully refunded)

The escrow period has passed (14 days after event/service completion)

The booking was not made by you or an account you control

Multi-Generation Referrals

When someone you refer to WKND becomes an ambassador and generates bookings, you may earn a smaller commission on their referral activity (second generation). This extends to a third generation at further reduced rates.

This is not a pyramid scheme, multi-level marketing structure, or network marketing program. Here is why:

All commissions come from real booking revenue, not from recruitment

No one pays a fee to become an ambassador

You cannot earn money solely by recruiting other ambassadors

Commission rates are based on actual transaction value, not downline size

The program would generate revenue even with zero multi-generation referrals

Rate Changes

WKND may adjust commission rates and tier thresholds with 30 days written notice. Changes apply to future bookings only, not retroactively.

Payment Terms

Payout Method

All payouts are processed through Stripe Connect. You must set up and maintain a valid Stripe Connect account to receive commissions.

Payout Schedule

Commissions are calculated after the 14-day escrow hold

Payouts are processed on a rolling basis once commissions clear

Minimum payout threshold: $25

Commissions below the threshold accumulate until the minimum is met

Commission Holds and Reversals

Commissions from cancelled bookings are reversed

Commissions from chargebacks are reversed

Commissions from refunded bookings are adjusted proportionally

Suspected fraudulent activity may result in commission holds pending investigation

Currency

All commissions are calculated and paid in USD.

30-Day Invite Exclusivity

When a new user signs up through your referral link, that referral relationship is locked for 30 days. During this period:

Any qualifying bookings by that user generate commissions for you

The user cannot be re-attributed to another ambassador

After 30 days, the attribution may change if the user arrives through a different ambassador's link

This window ensures you are fairly credited for users you bring to the platform, while keeping the system fair for all ambassadors.

Content and Marketing Guidelines

Permitted Activities

Share your referral link on social media, blogs, and personal channels

Create honest reviews and recommendations about WKND events and experiences

Use approved WKND marketing materials provided through the ambassador portal

Host events or gatherings that promote WKND

Prohibited Activities

Spam: unsolicited emails, DMs, or messages promoting your link

Misleading claims about earnings, guarantees, or WKND services

Impersonating WKND staff or claiming to be an employee

Bidding on WKND brand terms in paid advertising without approval

Offering unauthorized discounts, rebates, or cashback

Using deceptive practices (fake urgency, false scarcity, bait-and-switch)

Self-referrals or referring accounts you control

Brand Representation

When promoting WKND, you must clearly identify yourself as an ambassador (not an employee). Use language like "WKND Ambassador" or "I earn a commission when you book through my link."

Non-Compete and Attribution

No Exclusive Lock-In

You are free to promote other travel, event, or marketplace platforms alongside WKND. We do not require exclusivity.

Attribution Requirement

When sharing WKND referral links, they must be clearly identified as WKND links. You may not disguise, cloak, or misrepresent the destination of your referral links.

No Poaching

You may not actively solicit WKND vendors, promoters, or enterprise clients to leave the platform for a competing service.

Termination

By Either Party

Either you or WKND may terminate this Agreement with 30 days written notice to the other party, for any reason.

Immediate Termination

WKND may terminate your ambassador status immediately (without notice) for:

Fraud or commission manipulation

Violation of content guidelines (spam, misleading claims)

Violation of the WKND Terms of Service

Illegal activity

After Termination

Your referral link is deactivated

Earned and cleared commissions will be paid within 30 days

Pending commissions (within the 14-day hold) are paid on their normal schedule

Multi-generation referral commissions cease for future bookings

You must remove WKND marketing materials from your channels within 14 days

Commissions Survive Termination

Commissions that have already cleared (passed escrow) are your earned income and will be paid regardless of the reason for termination, except in cases of proven fraud.

Liability and Disputes

Your Liability

You are responsible for your own promotional activities. WKND is not liable for any claims arising from your marketing, content, or interactions with your audience.

WKND's Liability

WKND's total liability under this Agreement is limited to the commissions owed to you.

Disputes

Disputes arising under this Agreement are subject to the dispute resolution provisions in the WKND Terms of Service, including binding arbitration in Wayne County, Michigan.
